About TruRein
TruRein grew from a genuine passion for equine welfare and an understanding of how the smallest details can shape the partnership between horse and rider. We provide professional bit and bridle fitting consultations across the Scottish Borders and North West England, designed around comfort, communication and performance.

Qualified expertise with horse welfare at heart
TruRein was founded to look beyond simply asking whether a piece of tack is technically the right size. As a LANTRA-qualified Master Bit and Bridle Fitter, I bring certified training alongside a thoughtful, horse-centred approach to every assessment. We consider how horse, rider, and equipment function as an integrated whole, offering honest guidance rather than simply trying to sell new tack.

A considered approach to fitting
Welfare comes first. During every consultation, I take time to observe the horse, listen closely to the rider and consider the horse’s responses rather than relying on measurements alone. If your existing set-up suits your horse, I’ll tell you. Where something could be improved, we’ll explore practical options together. If I see something that suggests discomfort may have a cause beyond bit or bridle fit, I’ll recommend seeking advice from the appropriate equine healthcare professional.

When it fits, everything changes
Sometimes a change in fit produces an immediate response. A horse may become quieter in the mouth, softer in their way of going or more settled in the contact. Sometimes the difference is much subtler.
What matters is removing potential sources of discomfort or restriction and giving horse and rider a better foundation for clear communication. Correct fit isn’t a magic fix. It’s one important part of helping your horse feel comfortable and able to do their job.
